Retirement Ceremonies

WE HAVE CEREMONIES AND RITUALS FOR BIRTH, PUBERTY, MARRIAGE, DEATH AND OTHER LIFE TRANSITIONS, THEN WHY NOT HAVE A CEREMONY RELATED TO YOUR RETIREMENT. IT CAN BE A DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR LIFE, SEEING THAT PARTICULAR HORIZON COME CLOSER, BUT WHY NOT SEE IT AS THE LAUNCH INTO WHAT MIGHT BE THE MOST PRODUCTIVE AND MEANING-FILLED PERIOD OF YOUR LIFE. RETIREMENT IS A HUGE MILESTONE AND A GREAT REASON TO CELEBRATE. SO OFTEN IN OUR CULTURE, WORK IS WORK AND HOME IS HOME.

There is not a lot of mixing of the two environments.  Some of the best retirement parties mix the guest list and this gives a really powerful opportunity for people to learn about the retiree.  It can be very touching for children and grandchildren to hear about the accomplishments of the retiree

Jon will create a Retirement Ceremony to commend the successes of your working life, allow co-workers the opportunity to reminisce about past times and celebrate your service. He can make contact with friends, family, co-workers to understand your achievements, how you were valued and obviously getting that story you thought had long been forgotten.

A retirement does not just have to include a couple of gifts, a few cards and some words from your old boss, it can be made to be meaningful to you and your family. It can involve readings from your family, promises for the future, heartfelt mementoes from the past, you can provide a blank book where each guest can write something about you, be prepared for everything! Have a bucket out with note cards for colleagues, friends and family to make suggestions for you to do once you retire. This is a fun way to get people talking and get creative, it provides you with a good laugh when you read some of the suggestions. Perhaps you can get colleagues and family to collect old photographs from your life, have them scanned and run on a loop on a big screen to your favourite music.

Whatever you think you want, Jon will try and include it to create the Retirement Celebration you deserve.

“The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off.” – Abe Lemons

Kind Words About Eternal Ceremonies

“Jon did an amazing job of helping us plan the perfect wedding.

Right from the initial consultation, through to the tiniest of details on the day itself Jon really payed attention to what we’d asked for and went out of his way to help us create something truly unique to us.

Our family, friends and loved ones all had such a fantastic time and everyone commented on what an amazing ceremony it was. Everything was just so ‘us’.

Thank you so much Jon for making our big day one that will be remembered forever!”
