Jon founded Eternal Ceremonies because having experienced loss, he attended a funeral service and left with the feeling that it did not reflect the life of the person that had passed, not in content, not in spirit, nor did it celebrate their time on earth.

As an Independent Celebrant, Jon is not tied down by tradition or religion, he is free to create a Bespoke Ceremony for your loved one which will reflect their life story, their faith, their spirituality and their beliefs. The ceremony can be held at a crematorium, cemetery or at a natural burial site.

Jon absolutely guarantees that he will listen to the wishes of the family when working on the script for the ceremony. It will be written with warmth and if a celebration of life, he will ensure there is space for a smile when remembering your special times together but also room for reflection when saying a fond farewell to your loved one. Working hand in hand with your Funeral Director, he will ensure you have access to a wide and varied choice of poems, readings, music, songs and hymns for your Order of Service. The ceremony is sometimes made more difficult by the fact that the loved one did not give a sense of what type of service they wanted before passing. Jon will offer his support and guidance through this emotional time and can deliver a ceremony with or without religious/spiritual content or have a mixture of both, it will be reflective of the wishes of you and your family.

Jon would humbled to have the opportunity to help you through this difficult time and take some of the burden that is on your shoulders. He will start with a blank canvas and ensure that the picture he creates, truly reflects the person he has come to know.

“Do not grieve for my going, and don’t be sad for a day, but in summer just gather some flowers and come to the place where I lay, and then in the shade of the evening, when the sun paints the sky in the west; Stand for a moment beside me – and remember only my best” - Anon

Kind Words About Eternal Ceremonies

"Hi Jon, thank you so so much for the beautiful letter and presentation of dad's service in the box you gave me - what a wonderful, and much cherished gift. I read it again today for mum and she loved it too. It made her laugh and cry and she was so pleased with how you captured dad.

Today was fantastic, everyone mentioned how lovely the service was. You did us proud Jon, you really did. You've been professional, personable and you were so easy to relax around to relay all our stories of dad. I know for a fact that you did him proud today.

I will never be able to thank you enough for the amazing job you undertook for us today. You will be emblazoned in all our memories now, I know that we will meet again, because I couldn't imagine anyone else for not just funerals, but for what you are, a Celebrant. There are families, for all occasions, that will benefit from your expertise.".

"Again, thank you Jon - until we meet again, kindest & very warm regards on behalf of ALL my family"
